The Romanian research system, connected to European reforms
Dragoş Ciuparu, NASR President :
I have come to the NASR (National Authority for Scientific Research) with the intention of realizing several important objectives: concentrate resources, reduce the bureaucracy, open the system internationally and stimulate applied and industrial research. All these objectives are however subsumed under a single basic principle: support excellence, wherever it may be. I have the certainty that all these objectives can be realized, with the support of a very professional and experienced NASR team. We have the capacity to apply the measures needed to help the Romanian research community reach its full potential. I have the good fortune of collaborating with several very good and rigorous people, and I can mention here my personal counselor, Dr. Alexandru Căbuz, and Dr. Răzvan Florian, the counselor for research and development of the Minister of Education, Research, Youth and Sport. I believe that together we can do what is needed for the Romanian research system.
